Make the network panel always active
Almost every time I open the network panel the first thing I have to do is reload the page I was on because it wasn't active when the requests I care about were made.
I can understand if there are concerns about memory usage on busy AJAX pages but it seems like at least the level of information present in the Resource Timing API would be enough for the vast majority of tasks I use the network panel to answer.
Thanks for the feedback. We are working on a new version of the network panel, and we will take this into consideration.
I think its not good to have that... because I fear that this will slow down the firefox!
As others have suggested, I don't mind if this is done as a configuration option so we don't have the slow down problems that plagued firebug.

According to the bugtracker we should not dream about it. It's the old behaviour of Firebug and it was brilliant but I think it won't happen soon.

Yap, I agree on this. What if there's a configuration, such as "Network Monitor always active"?

I have to add to this that for me I usually care more about seeing the request and response headers than the timing. It would definitely be handy and avoid a lot of page reloads just to capture the net information.
